We sometimes get asked ‘what is a mortgage broker’ ‘which mortgage broker is best for me’ or ‘what does a mortgage broker do’ so here we put it into our own words:
At Mortgage Advice UK we believe a mortgage broker is more than just someone who finds the right mortgage for you. We take time to understand a client’s current situation, their needs and goals and we help you achieve them by offering sound advice that is clear, fair and factual.
We will work with clients to ensure that the process of financing a property is as smooth a transaction as possible. We will advise which mortgage is most suitable for you by offering mortgage advice on over 11,000 mortgages from over 90 lenders and will liaise with all of the parties involved in the transaction to ensure you can exchange and complete within agreed timescales.
Which mortgage broker? – A good mortgage broker not only advises on the mortgage but also looks at ways to protect your home or investment.
We believe there are 3 main ways to lose a property and they are:
- Damage to the property
- Loss of income
- Loss of life
At Mortgage Advice UK we will provide you with the means to protect all 3 eventualities and offer mortgage protection from carefully selected providers.
We will look to provide you with the ‘fully protected mortgage’ and will explain the benefits of having a ‘fully protected mortgage’ and will work to meet your budget.
We also provide recommendation’s for highly rated local and national solicitors. We ensure the solicitors we recommend are on the lenders panel, are members of the Law society and are competitive in terms of costs.
And it doesn’t stop there... We will see the mortgage application through to completion of course but will continue to keep in contact post-completion usually via email providing market updates and opinion. Where the mortgage offered will revert to a different rate after an initial period we will contact you to review your mortgage before this happens or at an agreed date with you.
Our aim is to build a client base that will use us time and again and who will have complete confidence in what we do. We actively encourage clients to refer us to friends, family and colleagues and offer a thank you for any referrals you make that lead to completion of a mortgage*.

*Mortgage Advice UK will pay an existing client £50 for any new client they refer that then completes on a new mortgage.
